This tea is very flavorful and darker than many green teas. It is surprisingly sweet with very little bitterness. The leaves are very young and tender with lots of silvery tips. Angela likes to eat the leaves out of the cup (she is odd but we like her anyway). It is more vegetal than grassy, and can hold up well to several infusions or longer steeping times.Â
Produced by a family from the Co Lao ethnic group – one of the smaller minorities in Vietnam – to their own rigorous, long standing traditions. On tea-making days, they buy just enough fresh leaf to allow sorting and fixing (kill green) to be completed before the midnight hour; then rolling and drying begins
